The Sunrise Club

This is a public act of non-normative morning conduct.

Join The League of Creative Interventionists for Sunrise Club 006. We will convene on top of a local tall natural land mass for a magical morning filled with music, laughter, food, and the rising of the sun. The sun will rise at 6:00am so come a little early to catch it! It is magical to watch the transition from darkness to light over the City. Please wear your most formal/outrageous attire. Ball gowns, spectacular shiny dresses, tuxedos, houndstooth sportcoats, etc. encouraged. We will be serenaded by an amazing acoustic cello set from local artist Cellista before chowing down on light breakfast fare while the sun peeks over the Eastern mountains.
The secret location is located somewhere near the Cole Valley neighborhood. Exact location will be sent to you the week of the event. Donation goes toward event costs including food and music. Questions email Hunter at hunter@creativeinterventionists.com.

Hard to Watch - dance and music performance

Hard To Watch - June 28, 2017
CounterPulse
San Fransisco, CA

Hard to Watch is an evening length dance performance of private encounter. What are we willing to see? How are we willing to be seen? Through the use of Authentic Movement and spoken word this performance creates a game of hide and seek with shadow and beauty, with shame and essence. This work takes the threshold between the intimate and the private as a starting point, and then moves to cultivate a space of seeing that can hold an encounter with both the self and other.

Rap Opera with Opera Cultura

We are reimagining the art form of opera to encompass one of the primary social musical languages of today - rap.  Master beatboxer/Rap Artist Carlos Aguirre will work with youth to help tell their stories through a new hybrid art form. The project will draw on socioeconomic issues affecting youth to create a narrative of their experiences living in San Jose.  The project will culminate in a workshop presentation of scenes from the work  and include noted artists Cellista and soprano Alexandra Sessler
