Finding San JosÉ

Finding San José is a multimedia stage poem that encompasses film, literature, dance, and music. It uses Cellista’s debut album by the same name, as its soundtrack for the performance.

Made in tribute to Jean Cocteau’s “Parade”

In a region that prides itself on disrupting the status quo, Cellista is celebrating the legacy of the original disrupters. With “Finding San José,” Cellista (aka cellist, composer, director and performance artist Freya Seeburger) has crafted what she calls a “multidisciplinary stage poem” that pays tribute to Cocteau’s seminal production.

It is this broad creative process that makes the album an overall brilliant gem. True to her “pastiche” curatorial style, this inclusion and collaboration with other creatives is what makes Finding San José a captivating and mesmerizing listening experience.
